Post Congress Tour III: Lower Saxony and Schleswig Holstein

On this short tour you get to know typical livestock breeding farms in north-western Germany. Among the visits planned are:

  • Sheep and pig breeding, ca. 600 ewes of the Leineschaf-race offspring, ca. 800 pigs, kept on straw, piglet breeding and home slaughtering
  • Harzer Redstock, cattle-farm with pedigree breeding
  • Lower Saxony Country Stud Celle
  • Masterrind, the most modern insemination centre in Holstein. A total of 25 Masterrind bulls are among Germany’s Top 100. Pedigree breeding and sales of 400 000 herd-book cows of Holstein and 6600 of beef cattle. In the area of embryo-transfer and biotechnology the centre belongs to the European pioneers.
  • Elite dairy farm, 160 dairy cows, average output of 10085 kg, show cows
  • Stud with private stallion breeding in the breeding association of Oldenburg
  • Pig pedigree breeding with Pietrain boar breeding, ca. 100 Pietrain herd-book sows
  • Cattle breeding farm with suckler cows

The technical visits will be interspersed with excursions showing the rich heritage of German culture. For example, there will be a guided walking excursion through the Hanse-town Lübeck.

Services included:

  • comfort travel-coach from Leipzig to Mecklenburg – Vorpommern and back, including all day-trips
  • 2 nights accommodation in good ***hotels, double occupancy
  • full boarding (breakfast, lunch, dinner) on the whole tour – drinks not included
  • agricultural technical visits and sightseeing excursions
  • English-speaking guide with agricultural skills
